So what happens to Black Widow in Avengers: Endgame isn't the worst feminist travesty in cinema. Up until now, we've been under the assumption that Black Widow will take place long before the events of The Avengers but some new details point to the story playing out in a very different era of the MCU.
No one besides Marvel knows the story and plot of Black Widow. We previously reported that Jac Schaeffer is writing the script for the Black Widow movie and it's been reported that Cait Shortland will direct the movie. In that sequence, either Black Widow or Hawkeye can die Stan Lee to bring the stone back, and both of them are fighting to be the one who gets to make the ultimate sacrifice and keep the other alive.
Neither has a specific role attached to these news breaks, of course, because these things must be kept top secret, and all we really know about the plot is it's set internationally” and focuses on Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow.
